Privacy Policy

The Hobby Horse Hub UK is a community platform for riders, families, clubs, organisers and small businesses. This page explains what we hold, why we hold it and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

  • Account details — the email address you sign up with, your display name and the role you choose (rider, parent, club, organiser, photographer, seller).
  • Profile content — anything you choose to add, such as a bio, county, photos, horses and results. You control whether a profile is public or private.
  • Date of birth — recorded so we can apply the right safeguarding rules. A date of birth is never shown publicly.
  • Submissions — clubs, events, competitions, listings and business profiles you send us for review.
  • Measurement — if you allow analytics cookies, we record which pages and listings are viewed, which searches are run and how you arrived. We never put email addresses, passwords, private notes or sensitive profile details into measurement records.

Children and young riders

Hobby horsing is a family sport, so safeguarding comes first. Riders under 13 are kept private and cannot have a public profile. Parent or guardian consent is recorded for child participation, and can be withdrawn at any time. A rider's date of birth is used only to apply age-appropriate protection.

Why we use your information

  • To run your account and keep it secure.
  • To publish the clubs, events, competitions and listings you ask us to publish.
  • To review submissions and moderate reports, keeping the community safe.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it — only with your permission.

Who can see what

Public pages show only what has been approved for publication. Private profiles, private horses, moderation records and our own outreach and analytics records are visible only to their owner and to administrators. We do not sell personal information, and we do not upload personal information to advertising platforms.

Advertising

We run no advertising or retargeting tags today. If that changes, nothing will load until you have given marketing permission, and you will be able to withdraw it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete your account, or object to how we use it. You can change your cookie permissions whenever you like.
