Cookie Policy

This page explains exactly what The Hobby Horse Hub UK stores in your browser, why, and how you can change your mind. Nothing optional is used until you say yes.

In short

We use a small number of strictly necessary items to keep you signed in, keep accounts secure and remember your cookie choice. We ask permission before measuring how the site is used. We run no advertising or retargeting tags at all today.

The categories we use

Strictly necessary (always on)

Keeps you signed in, keeps accounts secure, remembers your cookie choice and makes the site work. These cannot be switched off.

Examples: Sign-in session storage, security checks, your cookie preference, accessibility and layout preferences.

Analytics

Helps us understand which pages, events and guides are useful, and where people get stuck. Never used for advertising.

Examples: Our own page and search measurement, Google Analytics 4 (only if you allow it).

Marketing

Would allow advertising and retargeting technologies. We do not run any advertising tags today — nothing loads unless you allow this and we later switch it on.

Examples: Advertising and retargeting tags (none currently active).

What is actually stored

Sign-in session — strictly necessary. Held in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in.
Your cookie choice — strictly necessary. Remembers the decision you make on this site.
Accessibility and layout preferences — strictly necessary. Remembers settings such as larger text or a collapsed menu.
Your saved location — strictly necessary for "near me" searches, and only if you allow location access. Cleared when you close the browser.
Site measurement — analytics. Records which pages, events and guides are viewed and which searches are run, plus how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a social link). No names, email addresses or messages are ever included.
Google Analytics 4 — analytics. Loads only if you allow analytics cookies, and only once a measurement account is connected.
Advertising and retargeting — marketing. None active. If we ever introduce advertising, it will only load after you have allowed marketing cookies.

Changing your mind

You can review or withdraw permission at any time. When you switch analytics off, the related storage is deleted and measurement stops immediately. The site keeps working normally either way.
