Real photos. Real people.
We celebrate participation, not perfection. Every photo on the Hub is real — taken by a rider, a parent, a club or a photographer at a real UK hobby horse event.
The principle
Authentic photography, always. Real riders, real hobby horses, real clubs, real events, real photographers — never AI-generated.
Where AI-generated imagery is never used
- Event listings and event posters
- Competition listings and results
- Club profiles, logos and gallery
- Rider profile photos, gallery and posts
- Horse profiles, gallery and videos
- Community photo albums, posts and comments
What we love to see
- Riders mid-round, mid-jump or mid-cheer
- Groups of friends, families and clubs together
- Real venues — village halls, arenas, fields, parks
- Rosettes being pinned, prizes being handed out, hugs at the finish
- Behind-the-scenes: warm-ups, stables area, laughing between classes
Feel: natural · outdoors · joyful · energetic · in-the-moment.
What we won't show
- AI-generated horses, riders, venues or scenes
- Overly polished stock photography that isn't from a real UK event
- Staged 'perfect' portraits that don't reflect a real ride or day out
- Faces of children who haven't consented (or whose parents haven't)
Who supplies the imagery
Organisers
Official event posters, schedules and sponsor logos.
Clubs
Club logo, venue photos, training-day snapshots.
Photographers
Credited event photography linked to their profile.
Riders & families
Their own horses, competition memories and albums.
Consent, credit and safeguarding
- Only upload photos you took, or that you have permission to share.
- For photos of children, only upload with a parent or guardian's consent.
- Credit the photographer whenever you know who took the photo.
- Anyone can ask for a photo of them (or their child) to be removed — always honour that request.
- No AI-generated, AI-enhanced-beyond-recognition or deepfake imagery.
Writing image descriptions
Describe what's actually happening in the photo: who is riding, what they're doing, and the venue if it's known. Avoid guessing feelings; describe the scene.
Good examples
- Young rider clearing a small jump on a brown hobby horse at Cheshire County Show
- Group of club members holding rosettes after a team relay
- Official poster for the 2026 Yorkshire Hobby Horse Open
Avoid
- photo
- image
- picture of a horse
- generic AI-style descriptions
